Magic

Light creates magic. Through optical manipulation it can produce a wide range of visual effect. The magic of light can be widely experienced in nature - from sunrise to sunsets; from starlight to moon light - from rainbows and corona to the aurora borealis.

These phenomena can inspire us to create a special relationship between light and architecture. From the spiritual light of a candlelit gothic cathedral to the wonderful kitsch illumination of Las Vegas - from the explosive glitter of fireworks to the glamour of projecting moving image.

Even the dim yellow light of a badly lit alley or darkening light of an impending storm is part of light’s mystical quality. Man's own light can be created and controlled to provide excitement and emotion - surprise and mystery - through the creation of theatre and illusion.
